Leeds Beckett University is an exciting, modern University in one of the most vibrant student cities in the UK. Within the University there is a strong, centralized IT department with a remit to deliver forward thinking creative solutions in support of learning and teaching, and of the student experience as a whole.

To help us achieve this we are currently looking for an experienced, talented and enthusiastic Senior IT/AV Support Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in a multi-skilled team, assisting in the delivery of expert technical support and exceptional customer service. The post holder is expected to be able to work autonomously by managing their own workload whilst supporting colleagues by providing advice, guidance, mentoring/training as appropriate. The post holder will also be required to proactively contribute to the continuous development of our services, in line with our University IT Strategy.

The post holder will be responsible for expert IT and/or AV technical direction and diagnostics in support of day-to-day tasks, will be involved in coordinating and supporting the delivery of various projects as well as supporting internal and external events. This will involve working collaboratively across the wider IT Services department and with other key stakeholders to ensure that appropriate techniques and technologies are utilized to deliver the best possible experience to all.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of supporting a wide range of hardware such as desktop, laptop, mobile and audio-visual technologies, alongside expert knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems and commonly used software applications. These skills and attributes will be evidenced by having held a similar position within a comparably complex organization. They will have a passion for understanding the current and future technology landscape and possess a working knowledge of IT Service Management processes and frameworks.

The role requires strong technical IT and/or AV support skills, excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills and most importantly a passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience.
