About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Security Engineer to join the IT, Security & Application Development Team, which is part of the BGS Operations function.

The provision of effective Cyber ​​Security technologies is critical to the operation of BGS and in ensuring secure access to data and services for staff, partners, and clients.

As a Security Engineer, you will work in a small team responsible for the day-to-day provision and operation of cyber security infrastructure systems including Checkpoint Firewall and F5 security appliances. Other key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Implementing effective security solutions for network segmentation.
  • Effective management of public and private IP addresses and DNS systems.
  • Ensure the networking infrastructure is kept up to date, and in line with BGS security policies and standards, such as hardware replacement forecasting and software updates.
  • Monitoring the infrastructure to detect problems, faults and security incidents and provide rapid solutions.

About you

You will have a good level of experience of working in an IT support function with responsibility for the provision of Cyber ​​Security services and for troubleshooting IT security issues. Knowledge of networking technologies/protocols and an understanding of the security risks to network systems are essential for this role.
