Fixed-term contract for 3 years, 1.0 FTE.
An exciting opportunity to join a thriving and expanding team in Warwick Evidence, Warwick Medical School. You will deliver evidence synthesis to underpin national health policy and develop and evaluate research methods. We will provide significant training opportunities for a bright enthusiastic team member to become a specialist in the field and a future research leader.
Working within Warwick Medical School in the Population Evidence and Technologies Group, and funded by the Department for Health and Social Care, you will:
- Carry out secondary research to inform health technology decision making in the UK
- Disseminate research into a wider health, with whom you will expect to work closely.
The main focus of your work will be in providing research support in critical appraisal and clinical effectiveness reviewing for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and for other policy makers. You will support reviews for technology assessments (TAs) and diagnostic assessments (DAs).
You will work with a multidisciplinary team of information specialists, health economists, statisticians, modellers and systematic reviewers in appraising evidence on the clinical and cost effectiveness of health technologies, including drugs, devices and diagnostics. Work undertaken will directly inform health policy at the national level.
You will have a good first degree and a Masters or equivalent experience in a medical, health related or scientific discipline. You will have some experience of undertaking systematic reviews and of report writing coupled with an ability to produce high quality research relevant to the health sciences. Expertise in screening and test evaluation reviewing is welcomed, but full training will be provided alongside work with the specialist team in Warwick Screening. Conference presentations, publication or report writing are also essential.
You will enjoy working as part of a team and meeting tight deadlines. Knowledge and experience of undertaking HTA will be valuable. You will be a good communicator, be highly organized and accurate in your approach to work and have excellent writing skills.
