Job description

The Cancer Genetics research group seeks to recruit an outstanding, skilled and ambitious research assistant to contribute to a program of basic and translational research focused on the molecular biology of acute myeloid leukaemia.

We seek an individual with demonstrable molecular biology laboratory skills with experience in sample handling and quantitative PCR, with an interest in further developing these skills and learning and developing other molecular techniques. Knowledge and experience of NGS library preparation from primary samples would be of benefit.

The successful candidate will, among other duties, be responsible for analysis of samples taken from patients in clinical trials. This will require skill, organization, consistency and meticulous attention to detail.

You will also contribute to the group’s work by developing your own research projects under the guidance of other group members, and will be expected to lead these from initial planning and execution through to publication and dissemination.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for up to 18 months

This is a full-time post, 35 hours per week
