The School of Science and Technology is a multi-disciplinary center of research and education located in the heart of London’s vibrant design community.
The Department of Computer Science has over 580 undergraduate students and over 340 masters and more than 60 doctoral research students. It has over 50 academic members of staff. The Department has a long tradition of excellence in research and education and continuously improves the content of its programs. The research in the department is primarily performed in its five constituent research centers: the Adaptive Computing Systems and Machine Learning research center (ACS-ML), the Artificial Intelligence research center (CitAI), the Center for HCI Design (HCID), Center for Software Reliability (CSR), giCentre (Data Visualization & Visual Analytics).
We are looking at making 3 new appointments to build on our results from REF 2021 and also further strengthen our education programs. We expect the three new colleagues to join the Adaptive Computing Systems and Machine Learning research center (ACS-ML) (two appointments) and the Artificial Intelligence research center (CitAI) (one appointment).
The successful candidates would perform excellent research in one of the areas of adaptive computing systems, cloud computing, machine learning or artificial intelligence and provide an excellent educational experience to our students across the range of programs and modules that are delivered by the Department of Computer Science. .
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science. They will have an internationally recognized reputation in areas of adaptive computing systems, cloud computing, machine learning or artificial intelligence. They will also have significant experience of delivering outstanding education and supporting students’ learning in Computer Science subjects. Experience in teaching and development of modules in full stack development would be highly desirable for one of the three posts. Experience in teaching and development of modules in cloud computing would be required for one of the three posts.
