Internal Events and Sales Coordinator at Queen Mary University of London

About the Role

This post will report to the Head of QM Operations and Venues and sits within the event management section of the QM Venues team. The post holder will be a key liaison between internal clients and the QM Venues team by building strong relationships with both clients and internal service department and stakeholders. This is an end to end role and allows the Internal Events Coordinator to guide the client from inquiry to event operation.

The purpose of the role is to act as a link between QM Venues and the end client, acting as the events expert for all aspects of management such as room lay-outs, catering, audio visual, risk assessments, staffing requirements and additional services required. for the smooth running of events.

About You

The successful candidate will have excellent operational knowledge of running a wide range of events from small daytime meetings to large conferences. Ideally you will have experience of working across multiple venues or within a Higher Education environment. You need to have exceptional levels of customer service as this role involves dealing with various internal stakeholders of varying levels. You will be a driven and proactive individual who is details oriented, polite, helpful and professional even when working under pressure.

The post is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment. Starting salary will be (in the range of) £29,082-£35,775 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
