The Head of Portfolio Management & Business Operations is responsible for the development and application of a systematic management framework to define and deliver a portfolio of programs, projects, products and/or ongoing services, in support of specific business strategies and objectives. They will work closely with Technology staff and the broader College to ensure the successful management and delivery of the mixed portfolio of Technology projects and workstreams.
The post holder will have an excellent understanding of the portfolio lifecycle and will work with Technology and business stakeholders to systemise the governance, categorization and prioritization of the Technology project and workstream portfolio and will enable the creation and maintenance of a pipeline of planned and active investments .
The Head of Portfolio Management & Business Operations will establish the use of common standards to manage, assure and report Ideas and Projects, continuously looking for agile and lean ways of operating to ensure the pace of delivery meets the needs of RCA.
Head of Portfolio Management & Business Operations will report to the CIO and Director of Digital & Technical Services and will manage a team including Technical Delivery Managers, Business Analysts and business support staff.
To support ILTS in developing and implementing the College and directorate strategy. To ensure effective management of ILTS resources and the smooth operation of ILTS activities working closely with the Heads of Service within ILTS and the wider business. Facilitate, coordinate, plan and deploy resource requirements including robust budgetary control. Act as focal point for liaison with Professional Service and Academic functions and disseminate information effectively across the directorate and the wider college as appropriate.
