Director of Operations at UCL

The Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences is recruiting a Faculty Director of Operations to lead the professional services team in the Faculty, and to be responsible for the leadership and management of Faculty operations to ensure a high-quality, professional service. This is a senior management position reporting directly to the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences, working closely with the Dean and Director of Operations for Arts and Humanities, UCL’s Vice-President (Operations), and Heads of Professional Service Divisions. The post holder will work closely with the Dean, the School Head of Finance, and the Joint Faculty Tutor to contribute to strategy development and implementation. The post holder will be required to make decisions and recommendations on broad and complex issues which impact on the operations and future direction of the Faculty and the wider university.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of leadership and management of business operations in a complex organization, preferably within the Higher Education sector. Demonstrable organizational skills, the ability to prioritize in the face of competing demands and proven success in embedding strategic, financial and resource management and motivating high-performing teams that deliver excellent outputs. Relevant professional experience with a high standard of education, preferably to postgraduate level or equivalent qualification.
