Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Closing Date: 23.59 hours BST on Friday 30 September 2022

Interview Date: Wednesday 12 October 2022

We are looking for a skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on an innovative research project that has been funded through Aston University and a BBSRC Impact Accelerator Award. This multidisciplinary, intersectoral project looks to generate bioinspired membranes for the treatment of wastewater and purification of biotechnologically produced molecules. The work is a collaboration between academics in the Colleges of Health and Life Sciences and Engineering and Physical Sciences and, hence, an interdisciplinary mindset is essential.

You will have a strong track record in cell membrane protein biochemistry and/or the synthesis and use of polymers designed for membrane protein extraction. An ability to learn new techniques quickly is highly desirable and full training will be given as needed. Experience of driving research projects on a day-to-day basis is required.

Candidates who have recently submitted their PhD and are awaiting award will be considered.

The post is available for a fixed term of 1 year with an ideal start date in October 2022.
