Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) provides expertise in the design and delivery of feasibility studies, evaluation trials, complex interventions and other well-designed clinical intervention studies. Lancashire CTU was awarded provisional UKCRC registration in 2019 and is undertaking significant further investment in the development of Lancashire CTU and the recruitment of staff with relevant clinical and/or research expertise. We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit which manages health related trials for UCLan, external organizations and international partners.
We wish to recruit a Research Associate to join the Statistics Team to provide statistical advice and support in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials and other high-quality research studies within Lancashire CTU and the wider University, whilst further developing their skills and experience. in health research and statistics. The role is primarily research, but the post holder will also contribute to teaching by CTU and AHRh.
Essential for this role is previous experience of undertaking statistical research. Good knowledge of medical statistics and clinical trials as well as competence in at least one relevant statistical software package (eg, SPSS, R, Stata, Minitab, GENSTAT) is also essential to the role.
The post holder will have a postgraduate qualification with substantial experience and formal training in statistics at degree or postgraduate level.
