Fixed-term contract until 29 September 2024, 1.0 FTE.
You will have lead responsibility for the management and oversight of innovative programs, designed to engage young people from the most under-represented groups in higher education, raising aspirations and supporting achievement to enable these learners to fulfill their potential. You will play a fundamental role in maintaining and developing high quality sustained programs of activity for targeted groups and shape new provision in line with the University’s commitments.
You will contribute to the development of other outreach projects to help the University achieve its Widening Participation goals as set out in its Access and Participation Agreement and play an important role in the implementation of the University’s Widening Participation Strategy.
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with knowledge and understanding of issues related to access and widening participation, including policy developments that are currently impacting on UK universities.
You will have outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to engage and enthuse school-aged learners about the benefits of higher education and build and develop rapport with academic colleagues. You will be a strong team player, have excellent IT skills and have the ability to juggle a varied and demanding workload, proactively working under pressure to deadlines.
