The Sciences Team based in the Institute of Medical & Biomedical Education supports the SGUL Biomedical Science, Healthcare Science, Clinical Pharmacology and Intercalated BSc programs, and the KU MPharm modular teaching program.
Contributing to the broad work of the Sciences Team, the Senior Science Programs Officer may be required to provide administrative support for any of the programs within the Team’s remit. Currently, the postholder is exclusively responsible for overseeing the organization and delivery of all aspects of Years 3 and 4 of the Biomedical Science and Intercalated BSc programme; supporting nearly 350 full-time students from enrollment through to graduation, and acting as the central point of contact for all program-related arrangements and queries. The postholder would also oversee the development & management of the Professional Training Year (PTY) programme, a fully integrated optional training year part of the BMS programme.
The role of Senior Science Programs Officer incorporates a wide range of responsibilities and activities. Additional support for this work is provided by the Science Programs Officer and Assistant.
The Senior Science Programs Officer liaises with a wide range of academic staff, and works particularly closely with the Course Directors, Year Leads and Module Leads. The role also requires effective collaboration with administrative colleagues in the Examinations Team and MBBS Program Team.
