Salary Band: Grade 5 (£32,416 – £44,230)

For this role, appointments are usually made at £36,000 (dependant on skills and experience)

The Education Directorate at the Royal College of Physicians is looking for an outstanding, innovative learning technologist. You will be working with one other learning technologist and alongside a team of educationalists. This close-knit team works together to deliver our expanding portfolio of education and training for healthcare professionals. We are looking for someone who is driven by identifying and developing technological solutions to support learning and deliver excellence.

About this post, you will:

  • Provide instructional design and learning technology expertise.
  • Be responsible for development, evaluation and subsequent improvement of innovative technology-enhanced teaching, learning and assessment resources using a variety of technologies and media and in partnership with colleagues, volunteers and external partners.
  • Creatively enhance our online education offer through all aspects of resource creation including the design; scripting; development; testing and the implementation and evaluation of resources.
  • Work in complementary partnership with clinician volunteers and educationalist colleagues, who bring content knowledge and clinical insight, to support enhanced use of educational technologies
  • Work together with internal and external technical and support teams to ensure coordination and integration with relevant business processes and initiatives. This is a project focused role with responsibility for delivering products to deadlines to meet customer expectations and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across the college to support the delivery workshops and postgraduate programs, and support the development of learning resources that meet customer and learner expectations.
  • Provide learning and teaching support to the wider team and other departments.

We would particularly welcome applicants with an interest in:

  • Experience of broader online education program design – the breaking down of larger syllabus into stackable blended online learning experiences.
  • Expertise in the use of data and evaluating online content to drive improvement

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design of online learning resources and programs
  • Collection and monitoring of learner analytics
  • Manage the implementation and ongoing service delivery of our technology enhanced learning offer
  • Support the development of best practice in technology enhanced learning across the directorate and wider college
  • Provide learning and teaching support to those engaging in online and blended resources and programs.
