The successful candidate will be able to significantly contribute to leading the delivery of topics relating to our undergraduate and Postgraduate Mechanical Engineering curriculum, with a particular focus on fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Working within our school team, you will further develop your abilities in module management and student support, making a positive contribution across our courses and student outcomes. You will have extensive skills in industry-level CFD modeling software (eg ANYSYS, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, etc.). Experience in other engineering analysis and CAD tools, such as CONVERGE CFD, MATLAB, Abaqus, HyperMesh and Hyperworks will also be beneficial. You should have excellent, up-to-date, knowledge in both theoretical and applied/experimental techniques in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, and will be able to link current themes and state-of-the-art applications in your teaching. Working across the Faculty, School the wider University you will develop your abilities in teaching delivery and project supervision, making a positive contribution by linking current and emerging themes into the curriculum.

You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of ​​specialization. You will be expected to undertake curriculum development, design and delivery of teaching that is engaging, innovative and responsive, that achieves excellent student learning outcomes. You must be willing to work flexibly to promote and support international partnerships, as well as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.

This position is a teaching focused post that will attract candidates that wish to focus on pedagogic practice, curriculum development and course management. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to conduct relevant commercial activities.

The candidate should be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject area or have comparable industrial experience. Experience of working in professional educational practice/consultancy projects, as well as experience of working on applied research projects, will be advantageous.
