EU / International Costing and Contract Officer at Queen Mary University of London

About the Role
The post holder will be part of the International Research and Innovation Team providing a customer-focused and efficient costing and contracts support services for applications to predominantly EU and also international funding applications. Your role will be key in ensuring fast and efficient administration, with a focus on quality and responsiveness. You will be responsible for meeting service level agreements for standard grants or agreeing response timeframes for non-standard grants or contracts. You will be expected to keep up to date with changes in funders’ positions and to share knowledge among relevant central and school/institute-based teams.

About You
You will have extensive experience of working in pre-award role within HEI or another organization dealing with funding bodies and sponsors in relation to EU and/or international research. You will have good knowledge in EU/international funding available for researchers at various points in their career and ability to communicate highly complex information with researchers, managers and funders are essential. You will work in a demanding and challenging environment to ensure deadlines are met; and have the ability to pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure high accuracy in research costing and contracts.

About the Department
The newly created International Research and Innovation team will manage research and partnership development plus pre- and post-award support for EU and international research collaborations across all three Faculties. It aims to provide strategic engagement of international partners and funders externally, deliver competitive and high-quality proposals and projects internally, and to ensure compliance with the UK, EU and international regulations and funder requirements.

The post is based at the Dept W Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £35,775 – £42,021 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
