We are now looking to appoint our Director for the School of Justice Studies, which sits in the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies (APSS).

The School of Justice Studies offers a range of programs across three distinct areas; Criminal Justice; Criminology and Policing which includes a comprehensive professional learning and degree apprenticeship offer. The School is civically engaged with a deep commitment to inclusion and widening participation, and is firmly embedded within the local and national criminal justice landscape, with an increasing international presence. Our community of academics are actively involved in research and knowledge transfer projects that are influencing and shaping policy outcomes. We are student focused and the post will provide leadership, working with colleagues, to deliver an excellent experience for our students. This will focus on delivering a curriculum which is research informed and inspirational, as well as supporting progression and retention and excellent graduate prospects across our entire offer.

You will have a proven track record in excellent academic leadership delivering a climate which enables individuals and teams, from a variety of disciplinary and theoretical backgrounds, to thrive and excel. Committed to inclusion and social justice you will work with a wide range of internal and external partners. You will be adept in managing complex academic areas and have an evidenced ability to think strategically whilst also delivering operational improvements. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and ambitious Faculty leadership team.
