Research Associate – Nanomedicine at The University of Manchester

Applications are invited for a Research Associate post in Nanomedicine, in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry. The post is available immediately and tenable, on a fixed term basis, until 31 May 2023, in the first instance,

The successful applicant will join the North West Center for Advanced Drug Delivery which is a joint venture between the University of Manchester and AstraZeneca UK Ltd.

You will have a PhD in an area of ​​pharmaceutical science and have experience of working with amphiphilic, self-aggregating molecules and other nanoparticles. You will also have experience of modeling the cellular/sub-cellular fate of the nanoparticles. A good understanding of relevant physical and biophysical techniques, particularly of advanced surface analysis techniques is essential including the interpretation of small angle neutron scattering and neutron reflectivity. Knowledge of atomistic molecular dynamic simulations of nanoparticles would be particularly beneficial. A developing publication record in peer reviewed journals is advantageous. You have the ability to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes physical and life scientists.
