About the Role

Applications are sought for a Finance Officer position to provide effective and efficient financial administrative support to the Center Manager for portfolio of research oncology studies. The post will be based in the Center for Experimental Cancer Medicine, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.

About You

Essential requirements for this post include GCSE (grade AC) in English and Mathematics and an Honors degree in a relevant subject or considerable equivalent experience. The postholder must have experience of supporting financial management in a large organization, with experience of research grant management and intermediate/advanced Excel skills. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high pressure, fast paced environment. Previous experience in a Higher Education and/or NHS setting would be an advantage.

The Barts Cancer Institute requires applicants to provide all certificates at interview to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).

About the Centre

The Center for Experimental Cancer Medicine (CECM) is part of the Barts ECMC. The team comprises of an academically led Trials Team responsible for the development and management of investigator led and academically sponsored clinical trials, as well as a Cancer Research Delivery Group (CRDG) responsible for the recruitment and clinical management of Barts Health NHS Trust patients participating in clinical trials.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an immediate expected start date. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,733 – £40,797 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
